What was I hoping for, well some bug fixes would have been nice. My group bounced off the last updates so hard it’s incredible this was a favorite ever.

7 DAYS TO DIE FORUM UPDATE

This was a game liked so much by our couple with a child that he would negotiate to stay up super late to do all the morning chores if she would too, deal with fussy youngin in the morning and now… an update goes by and not a peep from anyone. They screwed over the idea of attributes by requiring intelligence no matter what you did, at least they addressed that specifically. They borked schematics so that was no fun anymore, although the update suggests it’s fun again, maybe. Heck I remember when it wasn’t even a RPG set-up, you became good at skills by… doing them and not pausing between action to try and allocate your points to realize your progress. We made decisions on whether or not it was worth hauling that meat around with us when what we were really after was ammo thus the gunshop run or something like that. I remember the smell mechanic! It wasn’t exactly a game changer persay or even a huge increase or decrease like they’re prone to do, but what it did indeed was change behavior. I would much rather see them build up more than change. That’s why I understand 's rage and 's pleasure at the same time. the only think that keeps it going imho is they add enough stuff in the next alpha to stave off complete revolution about the stuff lost/changed.įor me, the move from A16 - not the stuff added, but the stuff removed - really kind of disappointed me. It is hard to tell if they really know why people enjoy each Alpha, it always seems like there is a real disconnect between what people think is fun and what the Pimps decide needs to stay/go. There is absolutely no reason why this mechanic is gone from what I can tell, but gone it did, long time ago. And when you were desperate in health, but also needed food, you had to think about it. Yeah, it is a minor thing, but it was a great game play mechanism because it forced you to make a choice. The first change I ever really disagreed with was they decided raw meat did not have to smell after all. …and they destroyed different playstyles to accommodate those demands… which is definitely not something you can just change a server setting to fix. Instead of just fixing the game, still a fair amount of bugs and some ideas that don’t really work, and expanding settings, they’re like hey someone said this is too easy, well we’ll show them. Why did they screw around with this again, oh yeah, because a certain crowd, again, didn’t like it, and they destroyed different playstyles to accommodate those demands… which is definitely not something you can just change a server setting to fix.Īnd they do this kind of shit, all the time… just revamp an entire mechanism and let it sit there for a long, long time why everyone builds forts that defies basic sense with the one group saying hey everything if fine as they exploit the pathing which is why the forts look like they do. There are many ways to play the game, but we believe players primarily play as one or more play-style archetypes that we have identified as The Killer/Looter, The Quest/Builder, The Builder/Gatherer, and/or The Miner. These include XP for Killing Zombies, Completing Quests, Harvesting Resources, Mining, Upgrading Blocks, and more. In Alpha 18 we streamlined and balanced the ways players earn XP to support multiple play styles and supporting rolls. We had a lot of feedback from Alpha 17 on how XP was was mostly earned by Zombie Kills, making play styles other than ‘Killers’ invalid as you could only level up by killing zombies. There is a reason so many people shifted from logical looking and fun forts to forts on stilts with weird staircases and jump combinations… they forked fort building to appease the it’s too easy crowdb so the zombies destroy concrete like it’s swiss cheese. Here is what you can’t change and why those people are just… wrong.

ini file (i think it ini, i know you can change it for sure though because we do)… Air drops are fun and can decrease difficulty if you increase those, you can change the speed of the zombies, the number that spawn during the blood moon, if you care enough about changing things like backpack despawn you can go in and change that too in the.

So yeah there is a general setting for difficulty.
